The Man Who Walked Between the Towers is an American children'spicture book written and illustrated by the American author Mordicai Gerstein.

Published in , the book recounts the achievement of Philippe Petit, a French man who walked on a tightrope wire between the roofs of the twin towers of the World Trade Center in August Gerstein won the Caldecott Medal for his illustrations.[1] The book has been adapted into a film and a ballet.
