Cliff Curtis Biography
Cliff Curtis is a New Zealand actor who is the co-owner of the independent New Zealand production company Whenua Films. His film credits include Once Were Warriors, Three Kings, The Dark Horse, and Doctor Sleep (2019).
For his role in The Dark Horse, he won the Asia Pacific Screen Award for Best Performance by an Actor. Curtis portrayed Travis Manawa in the series Fear the Walking Dead from 2015-2017.
Born in Rotorua, Curtis studied mau rākau, a traditional Māori from taiaha fighting which natured his abilities as a performer in kapa haka.

He later performed as a breakdancer and competitively in rock ‘n’ roll dance competitions. For his education, he studied at Edmund Rice College and later graduated from Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School with a Diploma in Acting.
He started acting in amateur productions of musicals Fiddler on the Roof and Man of La Mancha.
